Dr. Hoffman’s expertise spans six integrated areas: 1. the use of assessment centers and 360 Feedback in the assessment, selection, and development of leaders, 2. the traits and behaviors associated with effective leadership, 3. the measurement of human performance in work and athletic settings, 4. the applications of I-O concepts to sports settings, 5. the future of work, and 6. neurodivergence at work. Dr. Hoffman has published 40+ peer-reviewed journal articles, many in the top outlets in management. This work has been highly influential, with over 16,000 Google Scholar citations, reflecting broad impact across psychology, management, and applied settings. Dr. Hoffman has delivered five keynote addresses on three different continents and delivered over twenty invited addresses in fifteen countries around the world. He is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), a former Associate Editor of the Journal of Management, co-led revisions to the international assessment center guidelines, the former Chair of the I-O Psychology Program at the University of Georgia, and the founder of UGA’s Industrial–Organizational Psychology Professional Master’s Program. His influence extends beyond academia: his research has been identified as one of the most-cited scholars in introductory I-O textbook. His research has received national media coverage, such as  the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, ESPN.com, CBS Sports, Yahoo, the New York Post, ESPN’s SportsCenter, the Associated Press, and Cracked.com.  Finally, Dr. Hoffman has consulted for Fortune 500 companies and collaborated with some of the leading management consulting firms on issues related to leadership assessment and development.
